Al Mitchell founded Ameritune in 1983. 3000 events later, he’s emerged as one of Chicagolands most respected entertainers. Much more than just a DJ, Al is a musician and sets the mood by playing live dinner music on keyboard and trumpet.
After dinner, Al’s back to being a DJ and will use the perfect amount of interaction to keep the dance floor packed all night long. What’s the perfect amount of interaction? Whatever the client decides. He’s comfortable entertaining in many different styles, from highly interactive – to just shut up and play the music! If you’ve ever seen a bad DJ that doesn’t know what he’s doing, or of DJs having bad sound systems and cheap lighting, you know that having a top professional is the way to go. Al is the DJ for you. His world class sound and lighting system is custom engineered and requires a 6 X 10 trailer to transport. Al uses a four speaker set up, including two 18 inch EV sub woofers and two JBL 15 inch 3 ways. With 900 clean watts per speaker delivered by QSC amps, Al can comfortably use this system for groups of 50 to 350 people. For larger groups, he has more stuff!
His awesome array of intelligent lighting is completely controlled by a laptop computer. For introductions, he has spotlights scanning the room and then zooming in on the door and following you into the room. Al can create any atmosphere; from cozy and intimate, to a clubbin’ frenzy, complete with fog machine at no extra charge. Al’s intelligent lights would normally cost $500 to $1500 extra for most DJ companies, but Al likes his toys and includes them at no extra charge.
In addition Al has an air card for his laptop so if you or one of your guests has a request that’s not in our library, Al can download it on the spot. Instant hapiness!
“We just wanted to take a moment and than you for everything that you did to help make our day perfect. We both believe that you are the best DJ at a wedding that we have ever been to. So we are so glad you were a part of ours. We have received many compliments from our family and friends to pass along. Thanks for being energetic, playing great music, keeping everyone involved, and just being you! I am sure we will see you again at a friends wedding. Take care, Roberta and Rob.”
